As I am writing this Hurricane Arthur or as The Weather Channel is calling it, SUPER STORM 2014, is barreling toward the North Carolina coast. The storm is expected to make landfall somewhere between Southport, NC and my house. So what does that mean?
Cue the Jim Cantore jokes! Everyone loves making fun of this guy but you've got to admire his reaction time as a College of Charleston student clearly gets a lesson that Jim Cantore is the Wutang Clan of on location meteorologists.
Living in North Carolina, we are used to hurricanes. We handle the oncoming storms with far more grace and preparation than say New Yorkers, who when Superstorm Sandy hit, were filled with World War Z-like pandemonium as they searched frantically for spray on tan and hair gel.
If you're in the damage path of the storm make sure you are well prepared, and if you venture outside make sure you are aware of your surroundings as the high winds can result in flying debris.
That's a rather well-prepared TV meteorologist! That being said, to be well-prepared means knowing what to do in case the storm passes by through your community. You'll never want to be stuck in rut in case the streets become flooded, so making sure you have things ready for the worst is the best thing that you could do. Thanks for sharing!
