New Bern: Home of Bears and Pepsi

If you've never been to New Bern, NC, it's a pretty unique town.  If you have been to New Bern, you'll know its full of Colonialism, Pepsi, and Bears.

There are bears all over town.  Below are some of the better Bears throughout downtown New Bern.

Patriotic Bear:  Suck It Russia

Captain Black Bear'd:  ECU fans would be proud - NO QUARTER

Bearon de Graffenried:  A Swiss settler who helped to found the city of New Bern.

Colonial Bearman:  Throwback to our British history.

Judge Bear:  How do you take someone wearing this seriously?

Lawyer Bear:  For the record, this is about how 90% of the Eastern NC lawyers dress for court.

Pepsi-Cola was founded in New Bern, and was originally called "Brad's Drink."  The name was changed to Pepsi-Cola after 1898.

This is the original Pepsi formula, which apparently Pepsi doesn't give damn if the general public knows.  Meanwhile Coca-Cola won't tell you whether or not sugar is an ingredient.

Pepsi also makes Mountain Dew, for your Junior Fans.   This is an old ad from...who knows what decade...that isn't at all stereo-typically racist or accurate.

If you've got the time and get the chance to go to New Bern, it's worth a visit.
